<< PLANT CARE

The Tradescantia Zebrina with its multicoloured foliage is a pleasant house plant that brings something different to your interior, or to your balcony or terrace. However in wintertime, it should be placed indoors.

The origins of this Tradescantia lie in Mexico, but it grows along the southern West coast of the US as well. Thanks to the mild climate in Europe, it can survive outdoors in some areas, even through wintertime.

This plant is forgiving, and will not be too hard on those who forget to water their plants sometimes. It endures drying out a little every so often. But it does not appreciate being left with wet feet after watering: make certain any superfluous water can be drained off at the bottom of the pot, so that it does not drown.

Your Zebrina will look fine and luxurious in a hanging basket, but of course it looks wonderful on a piece of furniture as well.

If you treat Tradescantia Zebrina well, it may blossom and grow white, pink or purple flowers, although It is not marketed as a flowering plant.
